Anyone visiting PAN Amsterdam has undoubtedly seen the small still lifes by Justin Wood. The American painter is himself an admirer of Henk Helmantel. When I asked if he knew him, he replied that he had unfortunately never met him, but told me with a laugh that his work had been presented alongside Henk's.
