It is not surprising that Henk Helmantel chose the most remarkable element of the church. Between 1300 and 1570, vault paintings were applied to the church, of which the image of the patron saint Stephen is the best preserved. Stephen is an early saint (35 AD) in the Catholic tradition, mentioned in the Bible.
