An early work from 1972. This small work has a very distinct individuality. It is clearly a Helmantel, though not quite the characteristic Henk Helmantel for which the painter would later become famous, yet already less photographic than his other earlier works. The painter is clearly experimenting, and we are just before the moment he has found his definitive style.
