Henk Helmantel himself calls this work intriguing. It is no ordinary Helmantel. The atmosphere is that of a dark day or twilight. It is one of the best cat heads I have ever seen by Henk; the iridescence on the bottle has enormous depth, and with just a single streak of white paint, the light still falls on the bottle, just like on the earring of Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring. Without a doubt, an interesting work.
