"Hey, the shape of the back bottle isn't right," I received that reaction multiple times. Glass is and remains a liquid; over time, glass can deform again. That has clearly happened with this wine bottle. The work has been included in the Ritsema collection and exhibited in the Icon Museum in Kampen. The liquid in the bottles, with the light falling through it, is mesmerizing. As a layperson, you think, how is it possible to paint colorless liquid? However Henk Helmantel managed it, it is cleverly done.
